A collection of seven pairs of men’s shoes, Pele is a design project resulting from a creative process dictated by research and experimentation. Shoes-objects developed through creative interpretations, technical solutions, functional orientation and personal aesthetics. Pele explores concepts related to aging, deterioration, the abrasion and the use of matter. It is time, history, memories, the life of objects exposed to human activity and the effects of nature. Pele is nourished by referencing the universe of classic men’s footwear of the twentieth century and by the observation of visual stories of the 1940/50, portrayed in photographs of Irving Penn’s “Small Trades”, among others. Pele plays with opposite, extremes, and contrasts: rich versus poor, refined versus rough, interior versus exterior, old versus new. It presents a collection of men’s shoes, each model with its own identity, custom-made and set within a contemporary design reality. Pele is also a document/book that reveals the creative journey of the designer and tells of prototype production, running through collaborative interceptions with other designers, artists, artisans and technicians of the Footwear Industry.

Fabrica presents its latest product collections in NUOVA ITALIA an exhibition showcasing the new generation of designers “Made in Italia”. In collaboration with the Italian gallery Secondome.

Arcadia is an expansive collection of contemporary alpine and backcountry architecture and interior design. The book profiles architects and designers who are embracing nature and creating provocative rural hideaways that adapt to their surrounding habitats and their topographical and climatic conditions. It features both traditional and progressive examples of private mountaintop homes and hotel lodges nestled in the forest landscape as well as bespoke furniture and interior designs inspired by nature and folklore. Arcadia is an inspiring reference that shows how the archaic idea of life in harmony with nature can be reflected in contemporary living.
Once Upon a Chair is an international up-to-the minute survey of contemporary furniture design. The book captures the zeitgeist of this rigorous industry by examining current trends and presenting pioneering examples by the world’s most influential designers and emerging talents. The collected works indicate a recognisable shift towards progressive responsible designs that make a social impact and the revival of artisanal craft. It further explores how designers are focusing more on process-driven and storytelling concepts as well as the continuing flirtation with material and technological experimentation.

Launched in 2001 on the top of a Benetton Megastore in Chiado, Fabrica Features Lisboa is a platform for ethnic, media and artistic diversity. Placed right in the hearth of the city, it is a space of meeting and interchange between young local and foreign artists. After 8 years, the space has been renewed by Fabrica’s design team who has conceived a new fresh interior design project that we invite you to see.
Fabrica Features is the name of a series of multicultural meeting places through which Fabrica, the Benetton Group’s communication research center, disseminates its vision of design. The Fabrica Features stores create an ideal network of dialogue and information interchange, giving space both to the creations of young artists and to the latest proposals of well-known international brands.
