C’E QUALCOSA DI VERO NELLA PANCIA DELLA LUNA

Mostra di 8 costruzioni in legno laccato, resina, lamiera, neon e plexiglass, raccontano il rapporto tra sogno, gioco, realtà. Protagonista unico è EMP: icona dell’uomo contemporaneo lindo e stirato nell’aspetto, pressato da urgenze nella vita quotidiana che trova rifugio e ideale nascondiglio in un mondo favolistico racchiuso tutto nella sua casetta rossa.

The “Sounds of Thought” exhibition presents 19 hybrid and multifaceted projects, that explore the rules, processes and interactions as dimensions of play between object-machine and spectator or space.
These projects where developed in the workshop on programming playable environments “The Sound of Thought”, lead by André Sier and organised by 411.LED at FBAUL, between the 21st January and the 8th of July, 2009.

FABRICA FEATURES LISBOA – Space Renewal

Launched in 2001 on the top of a Benetton Megastore in Chiado, Fabrica Features Lisboa is a platform for ethnic, media and artistic diversity. Placed right in the hearth of the city, it is a space of meeting and interchange between young local and foreign artists. After 8 years, the space has been renewed by Fabrica’s design team who has conceived a new fresh interior design project that we invite you to see.
Fabrica Features is the name of a series of multicultural meeting places through which Fabrica, the Benetton Group’s communication research center, disseminates its vision of design. The Fabrica Features stores create an ideal network of dialogue and information interchange, giving space both to the creations of young artists and to the latest proposals of well-known international brands.

The finalist students of Product Design will be inaugurating the exhibition Polypropylene in FABRICA FEATURES (Chiado) on the 9 April, where it will be shown until the 2 May.
This event is the outcome of the work of a group of 32 students from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon (FBAUL): in the beginning of the school year, the classic challenge of turning a two-dimensional object into a tridimensional one was launched under the title of “LIGHT”. With a single material (polypropylene), the results were structured lamps with a mere sheet of this material.
During the inauguration it will also be launched the homologous catalogue with the lamps’ and respective authors’ information.
After a strict selection among the candidates, this project will represent FBAUL in the TENDENCE TALENTS FRANKFURT 2009, in July. It is an opportunity to divulge not only the young Portuguese designers but also the lecturing of Design in Portugal.
